Bridgeland/Riverside is a top rated, inner city community in the city of Calgary. It is located just North East of Downtown Calgary, bounded by Memorial Drive, Deerfoot Trail, and Edmonton Trail. Two LRT (C-Train) Stations: Bridgeland as well as the Calgary Zoo/Barlow Maxbell Station connect this community to Downtown easily.
Bridgeland is known for TELUS Spark science center and its interactive exhibits, and the Calgary Zoo (Canada’s second largest zoo). Trails in Tom Campbell’s Hill Natural Park offer expansive city and downtown views. St. Patrick’s Island is also popular place for walking trails with views of Bow River and a easy connection to downtown for cyclists and pedestrians via George C. King Bridge and Reconciliation Bridge (formerly Langevin Bridge).

Bridgeland is rich in history:
The community of Riverside was once established by Russian-German Immigrants and was known as Germantown. Immigrants of Italian and Ukranian Origin live in this community. Officially part of the City of Calgary in 1910, that was also the year that the Calgary General Hospital was built in this area. It was closed in 1997 and was demolished in a controlled explosion on October 4, 1998, now is a green space surrounded with mixed-use multi-residential properties (Retail with Condominiums units).
