To the North of the community, it is bounded by 16th Avenue (also known as Highway 1). 16th Avenue/Highway 1 connects commuters East/West. Crowchild Trail is located within 1 minute, which connects this community NW/SW of the city. Parkdale also borders the Bow River, and living in Parkdale is popular for cyclists as the community is connected to the Bike Pathway system that will connect you to downtown easily – approximately 15-minute bike ride to downtown. 

Neighboring communities to Parkdale include: St. Andrew Heights, Point McKay, and West Hillhurst.
